Help Grow Cultivating Dreams Intergenerational Learning Garden

At Cultivating Dreams Farm, something extraordinary happens when people of different ages, abilities, and backgrounds come together in the garden.

The Cultivating Dreams Intergenerational Learning Garden is more than a place to plant vegetables and flowers. It is a vibrant, inclusive learning environment where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, students, older adults, and community partners work side by side, building skills, friendships, and a stronger community.

Every season, participants learn through hands-on experiences in horticulture, nutrition, environmental stewardship, and vocational development. Together, they plant and harvest crops, care for pollinator habitats, explore sustainable gardening practices, and experience the pride that comes from nurturing something that grows.

Designed with accessibility at its core, the garden features raised beds, sensory elements, and wheelchair-accessible pathways, ensuring that everyone can participate, contribute, and thrive.

A Growing Community

Beginning this year, students from local school districts will join CBS participants for regular intergenerational learning sessions, creating meaningful opportunities for shared learning and connection.

In the garden, generations come together to:

  • Share knowledge and life experiences
  • Build friendships across age groups
  • Develop practical gardening and vocational skills
  • Explore nature through hands-on learning
  • Foster confidence, independence, and belonging

Partnerships with organizations like Hudson Valley InterArts further enrich the experience by incorporating creative, sensory-based activities that help participants engage with nature through art, exploration, and self-expression.

Help Us Complete the Next Phase

To continue expanding access and opportunities for all participants, we are seeking $1,500 in community support to fund critical enhancements, including:

  • Additional wheelchair-accessible raised garden beds
  • Expanded drip irrigation systems
  • Adaptive gardening tools
  • Durable seating for outdoor classrooms and gathering spaces

These improvements will make the garden more accessible, sustainable, and welcoming for the hundreds of individuals who learn and grow here each year.

Your Gift Makes a Difference

Every donation helps create a space where people of all ages and abilities can:

  • Learn new skills
  • Build meaningful relationships
  • Experience the therapeutic benefits of nature
  • Contribute to their community with dignity and purpose

Whether you give $25, $50, $100, or more, your support helps ensure that the Cultivating Dreams Intergenerational Learning Garden remains a place where inclusion takes root and opportunity blooms.
