What if everyone had the chance to dream big?

Imagine the joy on Alex’s face as he held a comic book filled with characters he helped create—his ideas, his imagination, his voice finally seen and celebrated. For Alex and so many others, this wasn’t just art. It was empowerment. It was belonging.

At Community Based Services (CBS), we believe every person deserves that feeling—the chance to dream big and be recognized for who they are. This year, thanks to supporters like you, we witnessed incredible transformations:

  • Alex, who said, “This opportunity inspired me to create more characters. I’m thankful for this amazing exposure to the world and hope many good things are in store for my superheroes!”
  • Hundreds of individuals are similarly discovering increased confidence and joy through our expanded Hudson Valley InterArts Center, incredibly maintained homes, new programs at Cultivating Dreams Farm, and our new Impact Center for Learning in North Salem. This state-of-the-art facility uses tools like virtual reality to build job readiness skills for program participants and provide advanced training for staff—opening doors to opportunities today and tomorrow.

But here’s the truth: we can’t do it without you. Public funding is shrinking, and the need is growing. Your gift today ensures that people with disabilities have access to creativity, independence, and community—opportunities that change lives forever.

  • Opening more doors for inclusive arts and education
  • Improve residential options for adults with I/DD
